Pallor, Fever and Sweat.

Equipment:
  • Stipple sponge
  • Flicking brush
  • Beauty brushes

Products:
  • Supra-Colour
  • IPA
  • Glycerine
  • Eyelash glue
  • Eye drops

Health and Safety:
  • Be careful with alcohol around the eyes; the model's eyes should always be shut while using hazardous or chemical products.
  • Clean and tidy workspace, cover model over before working to avoid fallout from products onto the model's clothes.
  • Wash your hands.

Technique:
  • You can leave a model with no make-up on at all, but blemishes must be covered for continuity purposes as they may disappear in a week or so.
  • Moisturise the skin to make it shiny and mix with the products better.
  • Dilute red Supra-Colour with IPA to make it is more translucent in order to create a more realistic look.
  • Dab the supra colour onto the skin with a brush and blot/blend with fingertips or blending brushes to create redness of the face, fever.
  • Make sure to cover the nose, ears, neck, lips, go into the hairline to make sure that the blotchiness is consistent with the whole body as botches are not limited to only appearing on the face.
  • Apply eyelash glue onto the lips when they are puckered, this will stretch the lips and create an appearance similar to dry skin. When the lips are relaxed - you can tear the glue slightly to look like cracked/torn skin.
  • Powder lips to look even dryer and slightly pale.
  • Dab glycerine onto the face with a stipple sponge to create the illusion of drops of sweat on the skin.
  • Flick IPA and Supra-Colour at the face to give the appearance of wetness/shine/sweat.

I am really happy with how these techniques turned out. I think these techniques will definitely be useful in the future for television shows or other projects but I will probably not need these methods for the Dorian section of my project. I only created the look on one half of the face to show the differentiation between the two sides however, I now wish I had completed both sides of the face with this look for authenticity.
